Applying for Sanctions

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SCHEDULING AN EVENT:

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, FIRST CONTACT THE CHIEF OF OFFICIALS: Joe Kastely, 734-255-1855

The Chief of Officials will confirm that the date is available, and provide you with the name of the "official in charge" for the event.

PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A REQUEST FOR A SANCTION, YOU MUST AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • You must have a USABoxing registered physician for the event
  • You must provide USABoxing approved gloves for the event
  • You must provide a scale for weigh-ins
  • You must provide the Chief of Officials with a list of the anticipated coaches that will be attending the event
  • You must agree to providing a stipend for officials working the event
  • The venue must be approved by the Board of the Michigan LBC

Failure to agree to all of the above may result in the sanction being disapproved.

Prior to requesting a sanction, you must also secure a registered USA Boxing physician for the event, and include the physician's name on the sanction application.  The Chief of Officials can provide you with a list of Michigan physicians who are registered with USABoxing and eligible to work a sanctioned event.

Also, in the "event info" tab under the sanction application web page, under "description", include the times for weigh ins, physicals, and show time.

When considering applying for a sanction, you must meet the requirements of USA Boxing (rule4, page 8 of national rule book). USA Boxing does NOT approve the sanction, but provides the online process for the application.

The Michigan LBC requires ALL APPLICATIONS to be received a minimum of 21 days prior to the event.

DO NOT APPLY FOR A SANCTION WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING THE CHIEF OF OFFICIALS.
